The Advantest VOICE 2019 Developer Conference will be held in two new locations – Scottsdale, Arizona on May 14-15 and Singapore on May 23 – under the unifying theme “Measure the Connected World and Everything in It ℠”. Online registration opens soon with a 20-percent discount offered for the Scottsdale event through March 8. As in past years, the focus of VOICE will continue to be the learning and networking opportunities offered through technical sessions, kiosk showcases, keynote speeches, the partners’ exposition and social events.

On May 15 at VOICE in Scottsdale, the program will begin with a keynote speech by Dr. Wally Rhines, CEO emeritus of Mentor, a Siemens business, whose innovative electronic design automation (EDA) products and solutions help engineers conquer IC design challenges. Dr. Rhines is a recognized spokesperson for the semiconductor and EDA industries.

Dr. Hugh Herr, professor and leader of MIT’s Center for Extreme Bionics, will follow with his keynote address on “The New Era of Extreme Bionics.”  Dr. Herr is not just developing smarter, more capable bionic limbs, he is redefining human potential and designing a world in which technology erases disability.

Advantest is First to Deliver a Holistic Test Solution for Advanced PCIe Gen 4 Solid-State Drives

Advantest showcased the industry’s first fully integrated test solution for PCIe Gen 4 solid-state drives on the MPT3000-series and presented two technical papers at this year’s Flash Memory Summit (FMS) held from August 7-9, 2018, at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

FMS is an annual three-day conference covering the latest topics in flash memory – from embedded systems and mobile applications to solid-state drives (SSD) – and provides a platform for discussion by industry leaders, speakers, and innovators about a wide variety of memory applications.

To address the broad range of SSD protocols and form factors, Advantest has enhanced its proven MPT3000 platform to validate and test the newest generation of PCIe memories, giving SSD manufacturers the fastest, lowest-risk path to market.

At booth 606, Advantest displayed its MPT3000 platform, which supports the testing of PCIe Gen 4 SSDs. The MPT3000 is the industry’s first fully integrated test solution for developing, debugging, and mass producing PCIe Gen 4 SSD products. The new standard doubles the base speed of previous-generation devices while cutting costs and reducing energy consumption. The unparalleled versatility of the modular MPT3000 platform makes it the perfect scalable solution for all engineering, volume production, and built-in self-test (BIST) applications.

On Wednesday, August 8, Linden Hsu, an Advantest R&D engineer, presented a paper titled “Diagnosing SSD Failures During Testing” during the Testing/Performance Analysis track, which takes place from 8:30-10:50 AM.

Advantest’s VOICE 2018 Developer Conference to Feature Innovative Technical Program, Forward-Looking Keynotes and Interactive Kiosks in San Diego, CA and Hsinchu, Taiwan

Advantest will hold its 12th annual VOICE Developer Conference on May 15-16 in San Diego, California, and on May 23 in Hsinchu, Taiwan, to help members of the international semiconductor community improve the efficiency and cost effectiveness of IC testing. These international gatherings present industry professionals with opportunities to hear more than 90 technical sessions on the latest test technologies and techniques, meet with experts, visit the Partners’ Expo, attend networking events and conduct in-depth discussions relating to a broad range of currently available IC test solutions.

This year’s program has been enhanced with fewer sessions running in parallel and will focus on timely topics in the automatic test equipment (ATE) industry such as hardware and software design integration, optimizing productivity, test methodologies, device-specific testing and – for the first time – the Internet of Things (IoT). In addition to paper presentations, Advantest R&D engineers and technology experts will be available to discuss other testing topics with interested attendees during the Welcome Reception and Technology Kiosk Showcase.

The U.S. and Taiwan events will both feature engaging keynotes touching on artificial intelligence (AI). At VOICE in San Diego, Mike Walsh, CEO of Tomorrow, a global consultancy on designing companies for the 21st century, will present a keynote on “Reinventing Leadership for the Age of Machine Intelligence.”  The Taiwan event’s keynote speaker is Dr. Nicky Lu, chairman, CEO and founder of Etron Technology, Inc., who will address “Synergistic Growth of AI and Silicon Age 4.0 through Heterogeneous Integration of Technologies.” His presentation will be in Mandarin Chinese.

VOICE, the annual Advantest Developer Conference, has issued an international call for papers for the 2018 event focusing on innovative test solutions for system-on-chip (SoC) and memory semiconductor devices, handler solutions, best practices and other hot topics. Advantest to Debut New Solid-State-Drive Testers and Present Technical Papers at Flash Memory Summit, August 8-10 in Santa Clara, California

Advantest Corporation will showcase the latest additions to its MPT3000 series of solid-state drive (SSD) test solutions and present two technical papers at this year’s Flash Memory Summit on August 8-10 at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Advantest is an emerald sponsor of the 2017 Summit.

In booths #606-608, Advantest will present two new options for its MPT3000 platform, adding to the range of SSD protocols and form factors that it supports. The new MPT3000HES leverages the same hardware, software, thermal performance and interfaces used throughout the MPT3000 series, but in a smaller configuration designed for “copy exactly” engineering and lower-volume applications. In addition, the new Smart Power option is a highly cost-effective solution for built-in self-test (BIST) needs, including production test insertions in which a low-speed serial interface can provide maximum synergy with protocol test insertions.

Advantest’s exhibit will also feature a digital display and laptop demonstration of the cost-efficient T5851 tester for universal flash storage (UFS) devices and PCIe BGA memories. This system uses the same proven test architecture at the MPT3000 product family.

The company’s technical experts will make two presentations at the summit during Session 201-C on Testing Issues, which begins at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9.
