Advantest Draws Record Attendance to VOICE 2024 in San Diego


Advantest concluded a successful VOICE 2024 at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines in San Diego, California. The event was held on June 3-5 and drew a record-high attendance of over 400 attendees, the majority of whom were Advantest customers and industry partners. This year’s VOICE event coincided with Advantest’s 70th anniversary, and the company was pleased to commemorate this milestone with longstanding customers and industry partners.

The VOICE 2024 committee received 225 abstract submissions from 40 global companies across 14 countries. Of those abstracts, 78 papers were presented over the course of the two-day event—the majority of which were written or co-authored by Advantest’s customers. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) track was added to this year’s technical program, in addition to a wide range of topics important to the automatic test equipment (ATE) industry, such as 5G/millimeter wave, high-performance computing, cloud technologies, and system-level test.

This year’s event also featured an exciting lineup of three keynote speakers, including Craig Nishizaki, vice president of the Test Solutions Group at NVIDIA, Marcelo Ackermann, professor of the XUV Optics Group at the University of Twente, and Andrea Lati, director of market research at TechInsights. In addition to keynotes, Advantest’s Kotaro Hasegawa and Michael Braun hosted a Technical Highlights session that featured Advantest’s latest solutions to address emerging test challenges for various applications including microLED and silicon photonics. Attendees also had the opportunity to engage with Advantest R&D engineers during the Technology Kiosk Showcase. Attendees were also provided valuable time to network with others during evening events and scheduled breaks. In addition, a Workshop Day was hosted after the event on Thursday, offering attendees a hands-on learning experience on advanced RF demodulation, Advantest’s new DC Scale XHC32, and SmarTest 8. 

The VOICE Partner’s Expo took place throughout the event, providing Advantest’s partners and sponsors the chance to meet with attendees and exhibit their latest products and offerings. This year’s headline sponsors were Alliance ATE Consulting Group and ISE Labs/ASE Group.

Best Paper and Best Kiosk Awards

Attendees used the VOICE mobile app to vote for the Best Paper and Best Kiosk awards. This year’s Best Paper award was awarded Bernhard Moessler from Infineon and Souvik Dey and Jubal Saji from Advantest, for their paper “Enabling Virtual Scope Capability on the V93000.” Advantest’s Brent Bullock also won Best Paper with, “Early Detection of CRES Degradation on High Current Power Planes.” Makoto Eiki of Sony was named as an Honorable Mention for his paper titled “Improving Efficiency and Robustness of Gaussian Process Based Outlier Detection via Ensemble Learning,” as was Jun Zhang, Bowen Yang, and Jiamin Wang of Advantest for their paper, “Boost the Performance of the Test Program Development Through Burst and Concurrency on SmarTest 8.” Keith Schaub and Nadine Schill from Advantest won this year’s Best Kiosk award for their “Advantest Talks Semi” kiosk. 

Visionary Award

This year’s Visionary Award was presented to Matt Silverstein, senior manager, audio product & test engineering, Analog Devices. Recipients of the Visionary Award are honored for their significant and sustained contributions to VOICE over time. Silverstein has supported VOICE by serving on the technical committee for twelve years and contributing papers to the technical program for the past three years.

Advantest Concludes Successful SEMICON Japan 2023 with Record Attendance

Advantest displayed its latest products and solutions at SEMICON Japan 2023, held on December 13-15 at the Tokyo Big Sight. As a result of Japan’s efforts to bolster its domestic semiconductor industry, this year’s event saw a significant increase in attendance from 50,000 people last year to 85,000 people this year. Advantest’s booth saw a 50% increase in booth attendance compared to last year, with a steady flow of visitors including customers, government officials, media personnel, and financial experts. 

Unlike previous years, Advantest’s 2023 booth featured an application-centric display, highlighting major applications like High-Performance Computing (HPC), Automotive, and 5G. Our new application-based approach helped us to connect with visitors from diverse backgrounds and showcase the crucial role our test technology plays in developing the world’s most cutting-edge applications. Our display included new products, such as the HA1200, ATC 2.0, Pin Scale Multilevel Serial, and the T5230 memory test system, demonstrating how our extensive product portfolio enables global innovation.

As a gold sponsor, Advantest sponsored various aspects of this year’s event including the APCS (Advanced Packaging and Chiplet Summit), Smart Mobility pavilion, and SuperTHEATER where President Yoshida-san gave a compelling speech on how Advantest is enabling the future with semiconductor testing. Additionally, Senior Director, Test Strategist of SVC Marketing & Business Development Shinji Fujita presented, “Challenges in Testing Advanced Large-Scale SoC Devices” during the SEMI Technology Symposium (STS).

Advantest Concludes Successful SEMICON West 2023 with Exceptional Booth Attendance

 

Advantest participated in SEMICON West 2023 on July 11-13 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California, which had a vast increase in overall attendance. There was a significant increase in foot traffic at Advantest’s booth as well, doubling the visitor count of last year. Advantest employees hosted many key customers and media outlets at the booth, showcasing our latest leading-edge test solutions.

Under the theme of “Beyond the Technology Horizon,” this year’s product showcase included our V93000 EXA Scale XPS module, inteXcell, ACS, T2000, and memory test platforms, highlighting our broad portfolio. We also promoted our ongoing corporate ESG initiatives. An AR/VR demo of the inteXcell and AI-generated portrait drawings from the ACS team, utilizing state-of-the-art technology, attracted crowds of interested parties who were eager to learn more about Advantest’s products. 

In addition to the product showcase, Advantest employees gave six presentations at the 2023 Test Vision Symposium. Advantest sponsored the 2023 Workforce Development (WFD) and High-Tech U (HTU) programs, offering industry insight to young professionals and students looking to learn more about semiconductor technology and career opportunities in the industry.

Advantest VOICE 2023 Sees Record Attendance for 15th Anniversary of In-Person User Conference

Advantest concluded its VOICE 2023 user conference at the Santa Clara Marriott in Santa Clara, California, with a record-high turnout of nearly 400 attendees – a 25% increase from 2022 – the majority of whom were Advantest customers and industry partners. This year’s event, held on May 8-10, marked the 15th anniversary of the in-person VOICE conference, attracting participants representing more than 50 companies from around the globe. Over two days, a total of 71 papers were presented across nine technical tracks, of which 40% were written or co-authored by Advantest’s customers and industry partners. In commemoration of the 15th anniversary, past VOICE chairpersons were invited on stage at the opening of the General Session to celebrate all the conference has accomplished to date.

VOICE 2023 received over 140 abstract submissions from 25 companies across 10 countries. The technical tracks for this year’s event covered a range of topics important to the ATE industry, such as 5G/millimeter wave, AI/ML, high-performance computing, parametric test, data innovation and analytics, cloud technologies, and device/system-level test, to name a few.

In addition to technical sessions, VOICE 2023 offered a Partner’s Expo where Advantest’s industry partners met with attendees to showcase their latest products and services. This year’s keynote line-up featured such notable speakers as Dex Hunter-Torricke, head of global communications and marketing, Deepmind; Dr. Gaurav Gupta, VP analyst, emerging technologies and trends, Gartner; Claudionor Coelho, chief AI officer and senior VP of engineering, Advantest; and Michael Campbell, VP of engineering at Qualcomm Technologies.

Through the VOICE mobile app, attendees voted to select the best technical presentations and best technology kiosk.

  • “How To Use OpenOCD with Link Scale to Reduce Time-to-Market Using Designs Native Tooling,” by Stephen Peck of Marvell Technology and Gaurang Desai of Advantest.
  • “Test Time and Cost Reduction Using Intelligent Prediction from MI Models,” by Lisa Taubensee, Raphaël Latty, Bruno Galy, Matthias Sauer and Klaus-Peter Behrens of Advantest Europe.

Best Kiosk Award:

  • “ACS Edge + ACS Nexus + ACS Unified Server Real-Time Data Infrastructure,” by Ken Butler of Advantest. 

This year’s Visionary Award was presented to Corey Liu, manager of the Test Methodology Group at NVIDIA. Recipients of the Visionary Award are honored for their significant and sustained contributions to VOICE over time. Liu has supported VOICE by serving on the technical committee for two years and consistently contributing papers to the technical program for the past eight years.

Advantest Successfully Showcases its Latest IC Test Solutions at SEMICON Japan 2022

Advantest participated in SEMICON Japan 2022 on December 14-16 at the Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo, Japan. 

SEMI began the event on December 14 with an opening ceremony featuring speeches from industry leaders, including one from Advantest’s Senior Executive Officer, Kimiya Sakamoto. As in previous years, Advantest participated as a gold-level sponsor, expressing its dedication to the industry and the advancement of semiconductor technology.

Advantest’s booth highlighted various new products, including the inteXcell, the E5620 DR-SEM, the XPS128+HV, the LCD HP, and CREA’s power semiconductor test solutions. This year’s impressive display of innovative technology drew an exceptional crowd of over 2,100 visitors. Customers and partners, as well as numerous investors, analysts, and members of the press visited the booth to see Advantest’s latest leading-edge technology. Advantest also took the opportunity to showcase its ESG initiatives.

Beyond the booth display, Advantest participated in many other aspects of this year’s tradeshow. For example, ACS Business Development Director of Advantest America, Shinji Hioki, presented “Data Analytics in the Chiplet Era” during the STS Test Session. Advantest also sponsored SEMI’s new initiative, Advanced Packaging and Chiplet Summit (APCS), as well as the gala networking dinner, the Smart Mobility Pavilion, and the Mirai College Pavilion.

Advantest’s 2022 VOICE Developer Conference Concludes with Record Attendance

Advantest held its VOICE 2022 Developer Conference on May 17-18 in Scottsdale, Arizona, achieving maximum attendance and sponsorship capacity. Over 300 people attended the event, the majority of whom were Advantest customers and partners. The 2022 conference represented over 60 companies and included presentations of more than 60 technical papers over two days.

VOICE 2022 received 119 abstract submissions from 31 companies across 13 countries. A total of 66 papers were accepted for presentation during the technical breakout sessions, half of which were written or co-authored by customers.

In addition to the technical sessions, VOICE featured a Partners’ Expo, three highly rated keynote speakers, and a first-time “fireside chat” conducted between G. Dan Hutcheson, vice chair of TechInsights, and Manish Bhatia, executive vice president of Global Operations at Micron.

Through the VOICE mobile app, attendees voted to select the best technical presentations and best technology kiosk.  A Visionary Award was also named for ongoing, sustained support of VOICE by a customer.
